Took an impromptu trip to run in the 50th anniversary of the Vancouver Marathon, which features a beautiful course around the stunning city in British Columbia. It was a whirlwind solo journey round trip from Portland, Oregon but filled with good food and good memories of another big city marathon experience.

Smith Rock Ascent 50k
I had a tough race to be honest, dealing with an upset calf muscle (lingering from the Vancouver Marathon) from the start. I decided to check my ego and just go as slow as I needed to get it done. I embraced a lot of walking/hiking and focused on enjoying the scenery and the nice weather and being grateful for simply being out there in the first place, with some many friends and good people.

Rogue River Trail
I can't believe that after living in Oregon for over 11 years I hadn't done this trail until now...what a wild and amazing route! Keiren and I ran/hiked the 40 miles point to point from Graves Creek to Foster Bar in stormy, wet weather that only added to the lushness of the foliage and the adventurous feeling of the day. Super grateful for my calf recovering to be able to travel through this rugged country and for Keiren's companionship along the way.
